Hello Friends and Supporters,
WEDC is so blessed with a story about our mission's fulfillment of one more victory over homelessness and struggle for our elders, and equally as important the writer gleaned the "faithwalk" that undergirds our work.
While it was surely the vision of WEDC, we will very shortly tell the story of the strong partnership that was necessary to make this possible. WEDC was honored to have had over 200 people join in the Dedication and Ribbon Cutting of the complex that has already be recognized as the Senior Project of the Year by the Southern California Association of Non-Profit Housing. It appeared today in the LA Times (a surprise indeed!!) - paper and online versions. I am only sending the link because I could not cut and paste the story. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-beliefs-development-2010110...
Thanks for reading it, sharing it, and we welcome your taking time to learn about and tell some of the stories of the residents from any places on the globe who include former homeless, refugees, victims of foreclosure and business closures, sub-standard housing, and general rescue.

NOTE: Bishop Theodore L. Kirkland (AME Church's CEO for this area) was present, but because of the Planning Meeting was not able to respond to the press deadline for an interview.
